THP confirms fatality following multi-vehicle accident in Dyersburg

Shortly before Noon Friday, August 30, the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a 2-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Market Street and South King Avenue in Dyersburg. THP confirmed the accident resulted in 1 fatality.

Donald W. Flowers, 82, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Dyersburg Manor. Don was born on March 15, 1937, in Prospect, TN, to the late, Joe Alonzo Flowers and the late Mennetta Callaway Flowers. He was a self-employed plumber and pipe fitter. Annual Dyer County Fair opens Monday

On Friday, various rides and vendors began setting up for the upcoming Dyer County Fair. The fair opens Monday, September 2, on Labor Day, continuing a 70-plus-year tradition. Amusements, fun and events are scheduled to occur throughout the week, capped off each night with a $1,000 drawing, along with a vehicle giveaway Saturday, September 7. The Dyer County Fair’s grand opening ceremony is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the First Citizens National Bank Amphitheater.
