Five Trojan seniors play in All-Star Game

Five members of the Dyersburg High School Trojan soccer team brought their high school careers to a close on Friday night as they took part in the Senior All-Star Game held at North Park in Jackson. Members of the Trjoan soccer program represented were (from left) assistant coach Greg Stapleton, Walker Holden, Caleb Byars, Chris Buss, Luke Medlin and Clay Welch.

The 29th District Attorney General, Danny Goodman, has been elected by fellow members of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference (TNDAGC) to serve on the organization’s Executive Committee. In this new role, Gen. Goodman will play a pivotal role in guiding the overall administration of justice in Tennessee.

Newbern to immediately operate under COVID-19 protocols

Prior to the completion of Tuesday afternoon’s Newbern Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, City Recorder Jason Roberts noted a Newbern city employee had developed symptoms of COVID-19, though a positive diagnosis had yet to be confirmed.

Jason Maxedon named TWRA Deputy Executive Director

He had been serving as the TWRA Region I Wildlife Program Manager in West Tennessee. County Clerk’s Office drive-thru to reopen July 6

Dyer County Clerk Diane Moore informed the State Gazette on Tuesday her office will reopen on Monday, July 6 with drive-thru services only. The County Clerk’s office has been closed since Wednesday afternoon, June 24, with two employees testing positive with COVID-19.
