Dyersburg Board ok’s resolution for continuation budget

On Monday evening, June 29, the Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened electronically, pursuant to Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order 16, for a meeting at 7 p.m. The board heard various items of new business, including a resolution for a continuation of the fiscal year 2020 annual operating budget.

County Legislative Body passes continuing budget for fiscal year

With the current fiscal year coming to a close, on Monday night the members of the Dyer County Legislative Body passed a continuing budget as the budget for the upcoming fiscal year won't be approved by July 1. Dyer County Mayor Chris Young explained the reasoning for passing the continuance on Monday night after the meeting of the commissioners, all of whom were in attendance in person for the first time in recent months.

TDH reports first COVID-19 fatality in Dyer County

When the daily COVID-19 case numbers updated on Wednesday, July 1 at 2 p.m., the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reported Dyer County as having a total of 225 COVID-19 cases (total numbers include confirmed and probable) with 98 recoveries. The TDH also reported on Tuesday, Dyer County had experienced its first virus-related fatality.
