Dyer County Schools budget to include 8% raises for certified staff, 6% for non-certified staff

In Monday’s noon meeting, Dyer County Schools Director Cheryl Mathis presented the amended 2023-24 budget to the Dyer County Education Committee, a budget approved by the Dyer County Board of Education on Thursday evening. Chief among the talking points was a significant raise for certified teachers and non-certified staff.

The Dyer County Honors Day awards ceremony was held Tuesday, May 16, recognizing hundreds of students for their academic achievement, and scholarships. This year, students accepted roughly $9M in scholarships. Although the Class of 2023 was offered multiple scholarships from various collegiate institutions, this amount only reflects the scholarships that the students have accepted from their institution of choice and national, state, and local scholarship offers.
