Trimble no tricks but all treats

The City of Trimble had a scary-good Halloween evening with business and organizations handing out treats to ghosts, goblins, witches, bears, dogs, cats, astronauts, zombies, and even news reporters. The town came out in number to celebrate Halloween in a big way, making the candy-to-children ratio sweetly increased.

At Dyersburg State Community College [DSCC], residents were welcomed by even more festivities. The DSCC Trunk-or-Treat event also kicked off at 5:30 p.m., welcoming a large crowd of Halloween trick-or-treaters throughout the evening.

Spooky Newbern Halloween trick-or-treat frightfully fine

Downtown Newbern’s Trick or Treat on Halloween night went frighteningly well. Hundreds showed up in costumes and make-up. Shops, civic organizations, and a host of volunteers welcomed goblins, cowpokes, dinos, princes, super heroes, and creatures of the night—welcomed them with sweets of all kinds. At the depot stage, costume contests showcased the diversity of Halloween dress-ups. The town was lit up with lights, candles, and smiles.

Three Oaks fourth-grade team takes second

The Three Oaks Fourth Grade Youth Football team finished the Northwest Youth Football League Association Championships with a second-place finish following their loss to Obion County in the championship game on Sunday in Dyersburg. Three Oaks was a No. 2-seed in the playoffs but fell to top-seed Obion County 14-0 in the finals.

Dyersburg fifth-grade team finishes runner-up

The Dyersburg Fifth Grade Youth Football team finished the Northwest Youth Football League Association Championships with a second-place finish following their loss to Union City in the championship game on Sunday in Dyersburg. Dyersburg was a No. 7-seed but fought their way to the title game before losing 22-6 to Union City.
