Downtown Dyersburg welcomes hundreds for Halloween festivities

Despite cold temperatures, the streets of downtown Dyersburg were flooded Tuesday evening, as hundreds of ghouls, goblins, and masked crusaders made their way from business to business trick-or-treating. The event kicked off at 5:30 p.m. and wrapped up at 7:30 p.m. Festivities were planned at nearly every business around the Historic Square, with offerings of hot chocolate and cookies made for those venturing toward the north side of downtown.

Dyer County hosts Craigmont in 4A opening round

With the regular season now in the mirror and the Dyer County football team advancing to the TSSAA State Playoffs for the seventh straight season, the Choctaws will get to open the postseason for the first time since 2019 as the orange and white host Craigmont on Friday in the opening round of the Class 4A bracket.

Trojans open 3A Playoffs with Memphis East

After securing the program’s third undefeated season since 2018 last week with a win over Region 7-3A rival Ripley, Dyersburg will begin its quest for postseason glory when the Trojans host Memphis East this Friday night at J.C. Sawyers Stadium in the opening round of the TSSAA Class 3A State Football Playoffs.
