Kindness to animals is Godly
A volunteer's perspective.
A small portion of what I offer where I volunteer is a hug to anyone in need, including a client's "pet." I wholeheartedly love everyone I interact with, including their dog, cat, or the occasional lizard or snake. I can't help it. I remember the day I was almost locked out of our building because someone came looking for help with a python tangled in their hair and many, many necklaces. Twenty minutes later, the owner and snake were unattached, reunited, and on their way; it was my pleasure to help them.
We see many people daily in need of food, meals, or a snack bag; some have lovingly taken it upon themselves to care for an animal that has been dumped, neglected, or uncared for and roaming our city. Wow, that's beautiful! With our local shelter and other animal nonprofit at almost capacity, I applaud these struggling community members willing to help needy and homeless pets.
Last year, we hosted Keepers Mission, a fantastic nonprofit operated by Dr. Debbie Reynolds, DVM, out of Martin. Keepers Mission continues to provided FREE Veterinary services to the pet companions of those most vulnerable. And now, this service is in jeopardy! Keepers Mission is grant and donation-funded. To lose a free, valuable service for primary care, vaccines, worming/fleas, health screening, and nail trims would be terrible.
Please help keep this necessary and selfless service afloat. Checks can be sent to Keeper's Mission, PO Box 185, Martin, TN 38237, or you can use PayPal at Keepersmission@gmail.com.
Peace and love!
Lisa
