Newbern's Depot Days 2024 on Saturday, September 21, was a lot of fun for a lot of people.

Dyersburg City Schools hosted their annual Hall of Honor event and inducted alumni Dr. Thomas "Pete" Thompson, Dr. Thomas Walker Jr., Coach Timothy Strayhorn, and Dyersburg City Schools Director Kim Worley. Newbern's Christmas Parade included a wide and colorful variety of floats and other entrants--there were Santa, elves, larger-than-life fuzzy characters, the Grinch, Toy Story's Woody, motor cycle riders, ATVs, cheer teams, marching bands, beauty queens, and more. These are photos from that event.

Saturday saw some amazing cars and many charitable attendees. All proceeds went to the Angel Tree and Trade School programs. Presents and training for the kids.

Despite cold temperatures, the streets of downtown Dyersburg were flooded Tuesday evening, as hundreds of ghouls, goblins, and masked crusaders made their way from business to business trick-or-treating. The event kicked off at 5:30 p.m. and wrapped up at 7:30 p.m. Festivities were planned at nearly every business around the Historic Square, with offerings of hot chocolate and cookies made for those venturing toward the north side of downtown.
