Dyersburg Intermediate School has transformed its Camp EXCEL program into a summer-long learning adventure. Each week, students participating in the DIS Camp EXCEL program are provided a fun day of EXciting, Challenging, Enriching, Learning activities surrounding a theme. And educators are weaving lessons promoting reading, writing and math skills into this summertime fun. On Tuesday, June 12, students focused on the garden, first visiting the Main Street Farmers Market and then turning their attention to the garden at DIS. In the DIS courtyard, campers created butterfly steppingstones out of their footprints and planted a cheerful flower garden using brightly painted recycled tires.
