Finley Elementary School time capsule

Members of the last eighth grade class to graduate from Finley Elementary School and faculty and staff from the 1997-1998 academic year gathered in the school gym on Thursday, May 2 to open a time capsule buried on the school campus 15 years ago. FES Principal Dr. Carolyn Tyler welcomed visitors to the event and passed out the buried treasures to the students who attended. Items included in the time capsule ranged from school annuals and newspapers to basketball uniforms, Beanie Babies and candy bars. The eighth grade class also wrote letters to themselves to be read when the time capsule was opened.
