Governor Haslam tours Port of Cates Landing

Governor Bill Haslam visited Lake County as he toured the Port of Cates Landing in Tiptonville for the first time since the port was completed earlier this summer. Haslam received a brief overview of the port, including an explanation of the importance of a railway spur. Haslam recently approved $500,000 in funding to begin the process of building a 5.5-mile railway line to connect the port to the Tenn-Ken rail line.
