TDH COVID-19 update lists 305 active cases, 7 deaths for Dyer County

On Monday, August 3, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) released the updated COVID-19 case count for the State of Tennessee, as well as the state’s 95 counties. In Dyer County, the TDH reported 7 deaths as a result of the virus, with the county’s total case count being 555 (consisting of confirmed and probable cases). Additionally, Monday’s report listed Dyer County as having 305 active cases and 243 recoveries.

The PCR positive test results were reported at 621 with 5,363 PCR negative results.

Statewide, Tennessee’s total case count was listed as 110,636, with 109,325 being confirmed and 1,311 possible. Statewide recoveries were reported at 70,878 (64 percent).

Total deaths were listed at 1,092 (1 percent), with 1,055 confirmed and 37 probable.

The TDH reported the total number of tests performed in the state was 1,573,222, with 130,662 PCR positive results and 1,442,560 PCR negative tests.

Hospitalizations were reported at 4,808 (4 percent), with 58,716 (53 percent) not being hospitalized and 47,112 (43 percent) cases pending.

Shelby County (Memphis) continued to lead the state in total COVID-19 results at 21,492. Davidson County (Nashville) was second at 19,400 total COVID-19 cases.
