Dyersburg Finance Committee resumes budget discussion

The City of Dyersburg Finance Committee reconvened Wednesday, Aug. 5, to continue discussion on the 2020-2021 fiscal budget. Committee members heard from various department heads that further detailed their Capital Outlay requests. Additionally, the committee discussed residential and curbside garbage issues within the City.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for Aug. 6

The Tennessee Department of Health’s COVID-19 update for Thursday, August 6, reported Dyer County as having 593 total COVID-19 cases (TDH) includes confirmed and probable cases in the total case count). The report noted Dyer County as having 325 active cases, 261 recoveries, and 7 deaths due to the virus.

Dyersburg State welcomes students back to the classroom this fall with flexible instructional model

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) has announced that classes for the upcoming fall semester will begin Aug. 24. All students will attend their first week of classes online or via Zoom teleconferencing to allow faculty time to communicate class delivery methods to students, and to acclimate them to new health and safety measures before returning to the classroom. Instructors will contact their students prior to the first week of class with details on how to attend virtually via Zoom. Additional information will be forthcoming by the instructor. Students can still enroll for classes for the fall semester through Aug. 25.
