Dyer County TDH COVID-19 update for September 10

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Thursday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,082 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probably cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 118 active cases with 954 recoveries/inactive cases. The total number of deaths due to the virus decreased from 11, which was reported yesterday, down to 10.

DCHS to operate under Phase 2 guidelines

The Dyer County School System announced Thursday afternoon, September 10, the system would operate next week, Sept. 14-18, under the Phase 3 guidelines for all schools with the exception of Dyer County High School. DCHS is scheduled to operate the upcoming week in Phase 2.

DPD makes additional arrest in injured officer case

On Thursday morning, September 10, the Dyersburg Police Department issued a press release stating an additional individual was arrested pertaining to the alleged aggravated assault case of an officer, which occurred on Sept. 7. DPD said Mary Brown, 62, of Dyersburg was arrested on a felony charge of permitting or facilitating escape.
